Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association organises community development forum

Gallery Link BelowKUCHING: Over 1000 participants from diverse ethnic groups, NGOs, public and private sectors converged at Pullman to attend the one-day community development forum organised by the Sarawak Dayak Graduates Association (SDGA) on Sunday.
President of SDGA Dr Dusit Jaul said various initiatives initiated by the government such as the Government Transformation Programme (GTP), Economic Transformation Programm along with its Strategic Reform Initiatives (SRI) are aimed at propelling the country to greater heights of achievement.
Towards this, SDGA is taking the lead to ensure grassroots communities in Sarawak are kept informed at all times of these initiatives that may affect their lives.
Themed “1Voice, 1Destiny, 1Malaysia, the forum’s objectives are:
- provide updates on GTP;
-disseminate information on opportunities under the transformation programme;
- highlight security issues that may arise from the transformation programme;
- provide a channel for various associations and organisations to network with one another.
Two papers were presented at the forum.
The first paper on “Addressing security issues in the GTP” was presented by SAC Datuk Mohd Sofian Md Makinuddin who is the deputy assistant director E2, Special Branch, Royal Malaysia Police Headquarters in Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur.
The second paper “Opportunities creation through GTP/ETP” was presented by Dato Saifuddin Abdullah who is the Deputy Minister for Higher Learning and Datuk Dr Mahani Zainal Abidin, chief executive of ISIS Malaysia.
The forum was officiated by Minister of Housing and Tourism Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg.
